(a) Number of Indian private sector jobs are many fold higher in comparison of government jobs. Most of the government IT jobs are support roles with limited career progression opportunities. Government jobs are available in few IT organisations such as NIC, CDAC, NSG, Ministries, PSUs, etc. It is extremely difficult to get government job. Another approach is to focus more on learning one programming language well. Once you're proficient at one language, the next one will be easier (just like learning natural languages). Some programming fundamentals stick with you across languages. If you can't decide, go with the programming language approach. If you don't have a favorite language, go with JavaScript or Python.
