For a graduation candidate from the OBC category in Madhya Pradesh, the minimum percentage required to be eligible for the CTET exam is 45% in graduation, along with a relevant teacher training qualification like B.Ed or D.El.Ed. However, some relaxations may apply as per NCTE norms. Always refer to the latest CTET notification for exact eligibility criteria.

The latest syllabus for CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is divided into two papers: Paper 1 (for classes 1-5) and Paper 2 (for classes 6-8). Both papers cover Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, and Language II. Paper 1 also includes Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 has Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences. The syllabus focuses on understanding child psychology, pedagogical knowledge, and subject-specific content as per NCERT frameworks. You can download the detailed PDF from the official CTET website.

The NCET (National Common Entrance Test) is becoming compulsory for admission to the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), which includes BA B.Ed, in many central and state universities, including possibly DAV University, for the 2025-26 academic session. So, yes, it's likely to be mandatory. And absolutely, after completing a BA B.Ed course, you are eligible to appear for the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) exam, which is essential for teaching positions in central government schools.

To be eligible for CTET, you must be an Indian citizen and at least 18 years old.

For Paper I (Classes 1–5), you need to pass 12th with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year B.El.Ed.

For Paper II (Classes 6–8), you need a graduation with 50% marks and a B.Ed or equivalent degree. If you belong to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories, you get 5% marks relaxation.

There is no limit on the number of attempts.

The major difference between CTET and UPTET is that when candidates clear the CTET exam, it provides a national-level eligibility certificate that can be used across India, whereas clearing the UPTET exam provides a state-level eligibility certificate that is only valid within Uttar Pradesh state.

Since you are currently in the 3rd semester of B.Ed (which is typically a 4-semester course), you are not yet eligible to apply for CTET because you haven't completed your B.Ed degree. You can apply only after completing your B.Ed or equivalent qualification.

The official CTET 2025 notification and application form will be released soon, and only those who fulfill these eligibility criteria will be allowed to register for the exam.
