The NCET (National Common Entrance Test) is becoming compulsory for admission to the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), which includes BA B.Ed, in many central and state universities, including possibly DAV University, for the 2025-26 academic session. And absolutely, after completing a BA B.Ed course, you are eligible to appear for the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) exam, which is essential for teaching positions in central government schools.

To be eligible for CTET, you must be an Indian citizen and at least 18 years old.

For Paper I (Classes 1–5), you need to pass 12th with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year B.El.Ed.

For Paper II (Classes 6–8), you need a graduation with 50% marks and a B.Ed or equivalent degree. If you belong to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories, you get 5% marks relaxation.

Your first language being Telugu and studying in English medium is not a problem for CTET. What matters is your educational qualification. To be eligible, you must have completed or be pursuing a D.El.Ed or B.Ed course.

Nursing (ANM, GNM, or BSc Nursing) alone doesn't make you eligible, as CTET is meant for teaching roles and requires a recognised teacher training qualification. You can apply once you have that.
