No, For CTET Paper I (classes 1-5), you generally need to have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year D.El.Ed. or have a B.Ed. degree.

You can start preparing in the second year of D.El.Ed. itself!

You already study pedagogy, child development, and subject methods during the course, which are the core parts of CTET/TET. Preparing side-by-side will make your concepts stronger, and you'll save time after finishing the diploma.

There are many CTET guides, mock tests, and online classes available even free YouTube channels. You can find it on shiksha.com also.

If you want to teach in a government school then yes you'll need to clear the following exams:

  • CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test)
  • State TET (like UPTET, HTET, BTET, etc.)

But if you are planning to work in private schools, preschools or even in tuition centers then PTT is enough to get you started. Many people also gain experience and then appear for CTET later.
