Following is the exam pattern for CUET UG Science subjects:

  • Subject Paper: Physics, Chemsitry, Biology, Computer Science, Physical Education, etc.
  • Number of Question: 50 questions per subject
  • Compulsory Questions: All questions
  • Exam Duration: 60 minutes per subject
  • Marking Scheme: +5 marks for correct answer, -1 mark for incorrect answer, 0 mark for unanswered question
  • Subject Selection: up to 5 subjects irrespective of the subjects studied in Class 12 boards.

No, Section 3, the General Aptitude Test (GAT), in CUET is not compulsory overall. However, it is often a requirement for specific undergraduate programs at many participating universities, especially top-ranked ones like Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Therefore, while not mandatory for all courses, it is highly recommended to prepare for and take the General Test, as it significantly enhances a candidate's chances of admission to many universities and programs.

As per the CUET UG 2026 exam pattern, the question paper will include 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted for 13 languages, 23 domain subjects, and general test. Each subject will consist of 50 MCQs and there will no optional questions. All questions are mandatory to attempt. For every wrong answer negative marking of one mark will be attracted.

The CUET Biology exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and candidates must attempt all questions within 60 minutes. Each correct answer carries 5 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

According to the exam pattern, the CUET Mathematics exam will include 50 questions and candidates will have to attempt all questions within 60 minutes. Candidates will gain 5 marks for each correct answer and lose 1 mark for every wrong answer.

In CUET, General Aptitude Test is conducted to assess candidate's mental ability, logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, general knowdlege, current affairs and so forth. It is an optional CUET subject that can be opted as per the university and course criteria. It is not compulsory for candidates to opt for CUET General Aptitude Test. Candidates can opt for CUET General Aptitude Test for courses which mentions the deleted CUET subjects and for the vocational courses.
