The College of Dairy Science & Technology, Mannuthy is a government institution, not private. It is a constituent college under Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) and all its operations, funding, and administration are managed by KVASU, a state public university.

The minimum eligibility criteria for enrolling into MSc Dairy Science is to obtain a bachelor's degree in BSc Dairy Science or any relevant field securing at least 50-60% aggregate from a recognised university.
