M.A. In Dance is a 2 years course offered by Universities across India. The course mainly focuses on the dancing skills of the students. The course helps the students to learn new dance forms (folk and classical dances). The minimum qualification needed for admission to this course is graduation with a minimum of 50% marks in the particular stream. Final year candidates can also apply for the course. Admission to this course is done by the CET. Some colleges offer admission to students on a merit basis. Colleges and universities which offer admission to CET are dependent on the score of AUCET and some Universities conduct their separate exams for admission. The Average fees for this course is around INR 7,000- INR 2 LPA depending upon the nature of the college. Some of the subjects that are taught in the course are History of Arts, Natya Shastra, Concept of Nataraja, Dance Literature, Natya Gruha etc. M.A. In dance provides a good scope for the students who want to pursue their career in dance art.
