Many universities and educational institutions welcome students of all ages, including adults and mature learners. Therefore, your age of 54 should not prevent you from pursuing a degree if you meet the other admission requirements. However, it's important to consider a few factors:

However, as of 2021, Bharathiar University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade. Regarding acceptance by the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC), it may be best to check with the commission directly for the most up-to-date information on the recognition of Bharathiar University's distance education degree for eligibility and employment purposes in Kerala.

No, it is not possible for you to continue your third year because you stopped with your second year in 2015. It is a long gap of 8 years. Each course has its own length of time. Anyway, if you can just check with your university if they offer any terms or conditions in this regard. But the chances are low. You would have to take admission again and start from the beginning. All the best!

First you have to clear your previous backlogs. After clearing the previous backlogs, you can clear your third year of degree in one sitting, if University is not following the semester system. Further 3 years degree are valid for all types of jobs.
