You can definitely pursue MA in journalism and mass communication through distance however, it's not recommended. MA in mass communication and journalism is a course full of practical studies and exposure and it's very hard to attain these skills via theory. I am still recommending all the colleges you can look forward to for a valid post-graduation in mass communication and journalism in the link below:

A regular course is where you need to go to college daily and attend the classes and write exams, while a correspondence course is one in which you don't need to go to college daily, you don't have any classes also. You will be provided with the reading material which you will have to study on your own and then will have to give exams.
I would suggest you to do a regular MBA because in a regular MBA you get a lot of practical knowledge which will be very helpful for you in your future job. Also, in a regular MBA, you are offered campus placements also.

Statistics and surveys show that distance education still has a long way to go and achieve as far as job placements after graduation is concerned. For instance, the average salary package offered to MBA graduates (2010-2012) of IIM Kozhikode (one of the top IIMs in India that offers a regular, campus based PGP in management) by top companies in India and abroad varied between Rs. 11.29 lakh and Rs. 18.78 lakh per annum. The 135 companies that recruited at IIMK included Deutsche Bank, Nomura, Goldman Sachs, ICICI, Deloitte Consulting, HUL, ITC, Cognizant, Amazon, Zynga, Maruti Suzuki and Flipkart.
