Not all colleges in India provide Education Psychology course as a seperate program. Most colleges in India offer Psychology course including many of its speacializations courses such as Educational Psychology, Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology, and various others. 

Students can either take Psychology courses in BA, MA, PhD, and learn all of its specializations including Educational Psychology or they can take Educational Psychology as a seperate program, depending upon the college.

While a background in psychology can be helpfulbut it is not always required.

Many colleges offering educational psychology programs are might ask for educational backgrounds and Psychology as a subject in class 12.

However, having a basic understanding of psychological concepts can make it easier to grasp the course esaily. Some programs offer introductory courses or foundational modules to help students without a psychology background.
