Of course, there are many Industrial Design colleges offering admission on the merit system. However, it also depends on course type and level. For courses like BDes, MDes, Btech, MTech, etc., the colleges will require you to have a specific entrance exam score, like JEE MAIN.

With 46 marks in EAMCET, getting a free seat in top government colleges is unlikely, but you can likely get a government quota (Category A) seat in some private engineering colleges with lower fees. Look for less competitive branches and apply in all counseling rounds to improve your chances.

If you're considering M.Tech in Mechatronics at VIT Vellore, the placements are quite decent. Most students—around 80–90%—get placed, and the average salary is about INR 9.2 LPA. Big names like Microsoft, Amazon, and Intel do hire from there. That said, the return on investment depends a lot on how well you perform and what opportunities you grab during your time there.
