So many institutes offer online Master's programs in areas closely linked to automation and communication. For instance, Case Western Reserve University offers an online MS in Systems and Control Engineering that covers aspects of systems analysis, design, and control, which encompasses automation. Another is the 100% online Master's programme in Systems Engineering: Mechatronics from ECPI University, which focuses again on automation.

Courses at these sites provide a cross-disciplinary approach to education and flexible online teaching and learning. More narrow-focused "automation and communication" programs might instead offer modules
