It depends on from which college you are doing IT, but even from a not so good college you can get you can apply off-campus for Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Google, and various other product-based companies so you have various prospects after IT engineering.

Getting admission in NITs require general rank below 30000. It would be safe if you get that. You may get NITs till 40000 somehow. So coming for EWS quota there will be 10% increment in seats.
