Hello Ramkumar, in almost all the states, government conducts 2 or 3 rounds of centralised admission process and then colleges are asked to carry on with college based admission process. You will find all the details on the website of the directorate of technical education of your state. Best wishes to you.

Yes, there is an option for Diploma students who want to pursue engineering. You can take admission in 2nd year of engineering when the counseling for college starts.

Government colleges affiliated with Central government don't directly give admission without JEE Main. Some state governments conduct their own entrance exam for admissions and some also give admissions on college level counselling on the basis of 12th marks. Madhya Pradesh government colleges for example. So this is the only way if you want to opt for a good college then Apply with JEE Main.

As a government college it have more reputation among recruiters but as increasing workforce and less demand for employees minimum companies are coming for recruitment now a days. Generally major companies like TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, etc. come for recruitment and they all have annual package around 3-4 Lacs so don't get discouraged just go for Masters from some NIT or IIT so that you can grab high placement offers.
