The Bachelor of Technology Course in Computer Science Engineering provides students is built on a broad foundation of fundamentals sciences and in-depth understanding of mathematics and calculus learnt at 10+2 level so that they are able to analyze, model and design computer-based systems to solve real-world problems. PCTE-Institute of Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana makes the provision of a bridge course for newly admitted students which is conducted every year before the commencement of the first semester classes. The main objective of the course is to bridge the gap between subjects studied at senior secondary school level and subjects they would be studying in engineering. The syllabus for the course is framed in such a way that equal importance is given to both CSE discipline and personality development which includes training in soft skills. Orientation to Computers is also provided to help students familiarize with the fundamentals of programming languages and thereby enabling them to write small programmes in C language which is a part of their first year curriculum. The module on English is aimed at making the students better articulate in English thereby increasing their comprehension level and self-confidence. Bridge Course at PCTE-Institute of Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana thus helps the students to have a smooth transition to the B.Tech. (CSE) course.
