Chemical engineers are involved in many aspects of plant design and operation, including safety and hazard assessments, process design and analysis, modeling, control engineering, chemical reaction engineering, nuclear engineering, biological engineering, construction specification, and operating instructions. And yes it can be a good option and if you have interest in such a field, you can go for it.

You can check the list of colleges which you can get based on your marks and rank in both the exams using the following links:
For TS EAMCET:
https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/ts-eamcet-college-predictor
For JEE Mains:
https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor
Now, if we talk about the mechanical branch so this will be completely based on the college cut-off for the individual branch. If in case you won't be able to get mechanical then you can go for internal branch sliding counselling option.
