With a JEE Main rank between 8 to 9 lakh, your chances for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA/CSAB are extremely low, even with reserved categories. No, not normally in India; you can not successfully undertake a B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) degree by the old fashioned correspondence means or entirely off-list, and expect it to be accepted. It highly depends on your both ranks,
You must have search if you rank is lower in unreserved ranks or category ranks
If you have lower rank in category rank you must use the category rank in college prediction.
In maximum case the category ranks are much lower than you should use category rank to get the best college

With 9.1 lakh rank in JEE Mains chances at NITs, IIITs or GFTIs are almost zero unless you have a super strong category rank. You can still get private colleges that accept JEE score like Amity, SRM, Chitkara or Galgotias. Also, try state counselling some keep seats open in spot rounds.
