The General English section of the SET exam is usually easier than the other two sections. This section of the SET question paper is based on English usage and Grammar. The General English section aims to assess the candidate's hold on language comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. All Indian students are required to complete their course from Indian Standard XII English – CBSE, CISCE - (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala) and present a score of 70-75% in the English language. Also, Indian can also take up the IELTS exam and secure a score of 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band) in order to get admission in the University of Hull.

Since you are a B.Com graduate, I don't see any language specialisation in there. So pursuing a Masters degree is not possible. If at all, you wish to pursue English literature only, then the only option for you is to pursue Graduation again and then only can you opt for this specialisation at the Masters level.
