English is treated as a domain subject under CUET.

English has been recognised as one among the several domains in the newly formed Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

The CUET exam structure has multiple sections among which Section I has been earmarked for language tests. The candidates are provided the choice of selecting any one from the 13 languages available including English. Hence, students shall be allowed to prove their capability and competence in the language as part of the eligibility requirements for admission into the undergraduate programs of participating universities.

The first merit list for the B.A. English program at D.G. Ruparel College in 2023 required an open category cut-off of 559. That means, to be eligible for selection in the admission process, students should have secured a minimum 559 marks in their 10+2 results. Cut-off marks keep changing from year to year based on other aspects too, like the number of applicants and their examination scores. For up-to-date and accurate information, it is advisable to refer to the college's official website.

For the M.Sc. Microbiology entrance exam under LPU-NEST, the exam pattern generally includes multiple subjects, and English is one of the optional sections rather than being compulsory. The test typically requires candidates to attempt any two subjects of their choice from the available options, which may include Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry, and English. This allows candidates to select subjects aligned with their strengths and academic background, making the test flexible and accessible.

Thus, English is not mandatory and can be skipped if candidates are more comfortable with other scientific disciplines. However, i
