The exam pattern for the GATE Life Science (XL) paper is as follows: The total number of questions will be 65. These questions will be divided in three sections: (a) Compulsory Sections: 1. General Aptitude Section (GA): This section will carry 10 questions for a total of 15 marks. 5 will carry one mark, and 5 will carry two marks. 2. The entrance exam is based on your +2 syllabus and little bit extends from the syllabus. They ask the basic questions from maths, physics, English etc. No need to prepare specially for this, just recall the +2, +1 subjects.
