First of all, civil service is a responsibility for us. There is nothing easier or harder. We should be dedicated towards our work, whatever it is. For your answer, IFS deals with external affairs of country. Ambassador and high commission era, etc. IAS deals with internal administration of the country.

Most of the Indian universities nowadays conduct entrance examination for their undergraduate courses and the subjects you have mentioned are quite common. It entirely depends upon your aptitude and level of preparation. Some people have cracked CAT within 3 months, whereas some took six months for the same. So yes, it can be cracked in four months' time. All the best!
