If opting for working, you need to maintain a fine balance between job and studies and ensure neither of them gets affected. There are some courses you can get in by giving entrance exam, and then there is an interview process you've to follow and some of the courses conduct the proper exam and after that the interview.

Yes, a Diploma student can give the joint entrance exam test for studying engineering. But since you have done Diploma you can choose a path according to what you have done, or else do engineering as per your choice.
