Hi
Fashion technology has evolved and diversified into leather, footwear, jewellery, accessories etc from garments.
Top recruiters in it are Fashion houses ,Fashion designers, Event management companies, Film and TV production units ,Fashion magazines, Shoppers Stop ,Lifestyle ,Indus Fila, Levis, Tommy Hilfiger, Reebok etc. So the scope is ample only if you are passionate about it.
Hope this helps

Just check the placements at NIFT in both and decide. Though It is an excellent place to be, as the entry is very selective but it depends from branch to branch when it comes to over all output of an institute.

According to me the scope in both the fields is huge as one forms the backbone of the other, without cloth the final dress will never shape up and without designing it wont sell in the market.

Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Proje
