Both the institutes are good in their own ways. But considering your choice, Journalism, I would suggest AAFT. They have BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, which is more journalism centric.
Whereas the course SXCKOL offers is mass communication-centric and journalism, as you know, is a part of mass communication.
I would suggest you visit the websites of the institues and look at the syllabus. Then you decide.

Hi Sagnick, There are no books as such but you can start with Manorma the latest issue, its good for GK. Try reading books on history of cinema it will also help. Most importantly start watching films and watching it again and again. Get into the nere of it. Start analyzing each film you watch. What you liked, didn't like?
