Scholars or professionals wishing to make a career in Research, Consulting, or Academics (including Teaching), can help from doctoral level programmes. The candidate should have high scholastic presence and aptitude for research. The aspirant should have enough self-motivation to withstand the rigour of the programme.

The selection process of FPM at BIMTECH will contain of presentation (offline/online) by the candidates on their research proposal, then followed by interviews. Based on the final scores, the aspirants merit list is prepared; according to which offers for admissions are made.

MSRIM Fellow Program in Management is a doctoral–level research programme. approved by the AICTE, New Delhi, and is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to a PhD degree from an Indian University. Candidates who have completed master's degree or equivalent ngineering and Technology/ Management/ Economics/ Social Science/ Biological Science/ Pure Science/ Commerce/ Humanities with first class can apply for FPM course.

The academic session of the institute shall generally start in the third week of July, every year. The precise dates of all vital events during the academic year session shall be specified in the Institute's Academic Calendar. The academic calendar will be informed by the programme Chairperson-FPM.

 Candidates must have passed Master’s Degree or equivalent in Management/ Economics/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/ Humanities or any related and allied discipline with minimum 60% aggregate to secure admission in FPM programme in Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management.
