B.Arch and gaming has nothing to do with each other, if you want to get into gaming industry, Bachelors in game design and development will be the most appropriate course.

As far as I know, there is no degree required to work with a game studio, if you have one then it's a plus point but it's not important.
What you gotta do is show your work and experience.
Make your data structure and algorithms part strong and learn dynamic programming.

Hi Prince,
Game industry roles are well diversified. I answered a console game workflow sometime back (Rajat Ojha's answer to What is the workflow for developing console games?). Of course mobile games are less demanding but you need to first figure out what you want to do in the game industry. Considering the fact that you want to be a programmer, its a great start. Focus on problem solving and mathematics as much as you can. Technologies will keep changing, basics dont.
You can pick any simple game engine like Unity of Game Maker. Id suggest to go with Unity as community is huge, tons of videos, samples etc youll get and its very relev

Both the courses are highly demanded these days. You may get into any of the courses. Game design will help you learn how a game application works and prepare a layout as per it. Whereas, animation will help you learn the tactics of animating anything in different modes.
