Well, to learn any trade it is always advisable to opt for regular mode over correspondence / online. Choosing a regular course will help you attain the technicality of the field and help you hone your skills practically. You may opt for part-time/weekend courses along with your studies.
To join, you need to pass 12th in any stream from recognized board. Some gaming institutes take graduates from any discipline.

Hi Shouvik, I'd be happy to understand your current stage of progress including academics, courses, hobbies and other interests to help you understand what in you can lead to game design and also what aspect of game design can suit you better. Also, in most cases a broader learning like a combination of graphics, multimedia, web design, vfx, 2d and 3d animation, can lead to a better preparation towards launching oneself into a gaming career. Hi, ICAT Design & Media College offers Full Time Specialization in 3D Animation and a seperate course for Game Design. Both these courses are 1 year PG Diploma. Prakriti, I would recommend that if you are the best student in your city, take any of these fields and you'd be successful. This is the theory of relativity, the course is just as good as you are. Find out your real interest and follow it. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D).
