The selection process of RBI Assistant includes the prelims and mains exam. Those qualifying the mains exam are called for LPT. The marks of the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. RBI Assistant exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for the post of Assistant in various branches of RBI.

The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. Each section of the prelims exam is conducted for 20 minutes. Candidates need to complete the paper within 135 minutes. The duration of the test of Reasoning is 30 minutes, Test of English Language is 30 minutes, Test of Numerical Ability is 30 minutes, Test of General Awareness is 25 minutes and Test of Computer Knowledge is 20 minutes. RBI Assistant exam pattern for preliminary exam is divided into three sections. Total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. The exam is held for one hour. The mains exam carries 200 marks. It is conducted for two hours.

To calculate scores after mock test these are steps For correct answers candidates score three marks. Score of candidates is calculated after deducting AFCAT negative marking. There is AFCAT negative marking. One mark is deducted for every incorrect answer No marks are allotted to unattempted questions Normalisation of marks is done to calculate scores of candidates. The normalisation of scores is done since exam is conducted in multiple shifts. It is done to adjust difficulty level of question papers across various session.
