It is a little bit difficult for working people, but as we all have heard, where there is a will, there is a way. So, coming to the point, working people can also prepare for the UPSC if they manage their time well. All you have to do is use your time properly. If you have done your 12th with commerce stream it is quite difficult to prepare for CDS but if you have faith on your self then you can do anything. First read NCERT of class 9-10 of all the subjects like Maths Biology Chemistry Physics history, geography and Current Affairs and for Current Affairs read newspaper daily, it will also improve your English . All the best.

According to the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination UPSC CSE) official notification, there is no information as of now that whether optional will be removed or not from this examination.
