For the General Engineering section in SSC JE Paper 2, topics prepared for Paper 1 are usually enough. The Staff Selection Commission also prescribes the same topics for the General Engineering section of both papers. However, candidates must keep in mind that in the General Engineering section of Paper 2, 100 objective-based questions will be asked in the examination from the specific discipline chosen by candidates.

SSC JE Paper 2 is an objective type question paper that consists of 100 MCQs. In SSC JE Paper 2, questions are asked from General Engineering (Civil and Structural/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering) only.

It is important for candidates to go through SSC JE syllabus as it gives them a clear idea about what to study for the exam. SSC JE syllabus includes the topics for the SSC JE exam preparation. The candidates are suggested to prepare all the topics mentioned in the official syllabus because the weightage of the topics is not mentioned in the official syllabus.

SSC JE Paper 1 & Paper 2 both contains objective-type questions. SSC JE Paper 1 works as a screening exam and most of the candidates are filtered out for the main exam. There is 0.25 negative marking in the SSC JE Paper 1 which makes the paper more difficult. Candidates should prepare for the SSC JE exam in a integrated manner.

Yes, the Staff Selection Commission prescribes syllabus for both SSC JE Paper 1 and Paper 2. The SSC JE exam has two stages that are mentioned below: SSC JE Paper 1 - Objective type SSC JE Paper 2 - Objective type. There is a negative marking in the SSC JE paper 1 and paper 2. The marks secured in the Paper 1 and 2 are counted for the final merit.

This is a specialist service exam where the graduate engineers of specific stream can apply for the post of Junior Engineer.
