The students who aspire to become District Collector are required to write the Civil Services examination that is carried out by the Union Public Service Commission. The exam has three parts. They are: Preliminary exam, Main exam and Interview. The advertisement for this exam will be proclaimed in all leading employment newspapers. They will also be displayed in the authorized website of the respective State PSC.

First of all, you should be aware regarding joining Indian army as an officer that you must have to go through an exam followed by 4-7 days SSB where you have to go through screening test, psychological test, aptitude test, vocabulary test followed by physical efficiency test and a personal interview. After this whole process you will have a medical exam, if you clear this entire exam you will be selected as an officer more specifically lieutenant. For this you have to fight for the exam conducted by UPSC like:-
NDA - after class 12th (only if you are a PCM student).
CDS - after graduation.
AFCAT- after graduation.
