In order to become an income tax officer, you should get into Indian Revenue Service. To get into IRS, you need to clear your civil service examination which is conducted by UPSC. The eligibility criterion for the examination is graduation from a recognised University. The candidate must be of 21-30 years of age. Hi Himanshu!
To appear for an IAS I.e, for civil services examinations, you need to be a graduate. The field of graduation does not matter, but your performance in the entrance exam does. So you can opt for any stream for your Bachelors degree.

It depends completely on your career goal. I hope you mean public service commission. If you mean that and civil services then they are good and rewarding careers. For that you need to work a lot and if you mean any PG degree and not MBA then you may pursue MA in public administration along with it. If you mean MBA in PG then you should prepare well for getting seat in only top 50 B-schools.

It is never a bad idea to try for NDA. Being a defense person is a matter of great honor and respect. If you seriously want to consider a career in defense, you need to appear for NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice a year. The exam consists mathematics and general ability questions, which will determine your further admission process. To be eligible for NDA, you should have completed your 10+2 from a recognized board of education in any stream. Apart from that, you should be maximum 19 years of age while applying.
