There is no such specifications to choose the right stream. Any stream can give you chances to write or qualify for an IAS. In general, Arts/Humanities could be the suggested stream to study in and it will help you during your IAS preparations.

Hi, The Central government appoints collectors in each district for handling various administrative purposes in a district. They are the highest government officials in a state. Candidates who aspire to become a collector should qualify the civil services exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
