The pattern of the examination is as follows:
General Studies: 60 Marks
Arithmetic Skills: 30 Marks
Logical Skills: 10 Marks
In this pattern, the focus should be on GS section, where you need to fetch higher marks.
You can go for following books:
1. VRO/VRA Exam special book (Vikram editorial board)
2. Lucent GK

Yes, you can apply for State/Government jobs as SMUDE is a recognized university/college. Your category does matter, as that is a separate issue which helps you in the reservation.

To get into IRS services/cadre, you need to crack civil services examination. The UPSC CSE consists of 3 stages Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Getting into Indian Administrative Service is not easy considering the competition involved, but not impossible for a candidate with right attitude and approach.
UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is the government agency responsible for selecting the right candidates for this service. Hi Mohith,
There is nothing like IRS exam. To get into IRS services, you have to appear for civil services exam. There is no correlation between Anti-Corruption Bureau and IRS. Further, to get into ACB you need to join CBI, which is possible if you get through IPS cadre.

Yes, you can get into science if you want to become an IAS officer. Many engineering students also become IAS officer. It is not mandatory that if you study science then you have to get into medical field. You can take general B.Sc and prepare well for IAS exam.
