If you dream to be an IAS officer, for that you can be from any steam it can be of arts, commerce, science. It doesn't matter the main thing that's matter is giving IAS exams which are very difficult so do your graduation in any field but study well for IAS exams.

In civil services exam, you have to take subjective exams related to the subjects you have studied in your degree. So, whatever you may choose according to your interest it will help you to prepare for the Mains as well. Check the notification of IAS exam and show to your parents as well from UPSC website and check which subjects make eligible for which of the posts. Science subjects makes you eligible for IAS and IFS both.

Very simple, crack UPSC civil services exam then move to SVPNAP-Hyderabad to complete your training of IPS then you will become an IPS.

If you have done through distance mode and have completed by 2014, till the Supreme Court judgment, then only you are eligible. Any degree obtained from SMU after 2014 is not eligible for any government job, due to territorial jurisdiction violation and commercialization, which lead to cancel of recognition from DEB.

But for that, you have to do graduation in any stream and prepare for CDS (Combined Defence Service) exam which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice every year for recruitment to office cadre of the Army, Navy and Air force.
