The Department of Collegiate and Technical Education, Karnataka, founded Government Engineering College Challakere in 2021 with the goal of offering rural students a high-quality technical education. With the help of distinguished faculty, Government Engineering College has developed into a premier institution that offers training programmes, industry requirements consulting services, and student-centered instruction.

 The institute currently offers three courses: Computer Science and Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. All three of these branches are affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University Belagavi and have received AICTE approval. Among Karnataka's government engineering colleges, ours is the only institution offering advanced courses like artificial intelligence and machine learning.
