Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT Exam as well as NIPER Exam includes Syllabus from the entire B.Pharma Curriculum. It consists of MCQ Questions from Pharmaceutics, Pharma Analysis, Pharma Cognosy, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Basics of Pharmaceutical Sciences. To start with your Preparation, select the Standard Books for these Subjects. The GPAT/NIPER Exam Syllabus does not mention any books that you can refer, but you have study the Syllabus Content from as many books as possible. Pharmacology:
KD Tripathi is the best book for Pharmacology and if a student has studied it thoroughly, then he doesn't have to look for any other book for Pharmacology. All the questions asked in the GPAT are of the level of KD Tripathi.
Pharmacognosy:
C. K. Kokate is the easiest and comprehensive textbook for Pharmacognosy. It covers almost all the syllabus of Pharmacognosy of GPAT.
Pharmaceutics:
No single book can provide you the full syllabus of GPAT for Pharmaceutics. You have to study different books for different topics. Biopharmaceutics part should be studied from the Brahamankar. Sterilisation and Parenteral portions are best given in the Remington and should be studied from there. Formulation part should be studied from the book of Lachman as the formulation is best explained in this book.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry:
Like pharmaceutics, you have to follow different books for the different topics of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Basic organic chemistry is best given in the Morrison Boyd and you should study it from there. Spectroscopy is explained in detail in the year Sharma and Pavia. One should refer one of the two books for spectroscopy. Medicinal Chemistry should be studied from the Foyes textbook of Medicinal Chemistry but for classification part, you must refer S. N. Pandey's textbook of Medicinal Chemistry. Analysis part should be studied from the Vogel's or Chatwal's textbook of analysis. Candidates should keep concentrate on numerical solving skill to solve the question paper easily in the examination. All of the students required to plan everyday study routine and with this planning, candidates will be able to make an adjustment of time for study. Applicants have to make sure that they go through all the drug schedules and remember them as well. It is beneficial for candidates to do the small revision at the end every day of whatever they studied. They have to make sure; they get good sleep and eat on time.
