The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences released the results of GPAT on July 8, 2024, on the official website at natboard.edu.in. Along with the results, exam conducting authorities also released the score card which can be downloaded by entering the login credentials i.e. user ID and password. 

The GPAT 2024 scorecard was released on July 14, 2024, and can be accessed by entering login credentials. NBEMS also mentioned that 3 questions were found incorrect after taking responses from students hence all the students were awarded marks for it while preparing results. Along with declaring the result authorities also released the final answer key of GPAT 2024 on June 14, 2024, in online mode

NBEMS has no role whatsoever in allocation of M.Pharm seats and/or disbursement of scholarships. The validity of the GPAT score is for three years. The GPAT 2024 exam has been concluded successfully across 176 exam centres. This year a total of 39,341 applicants appeared in the GPAT 2024 exam out of the total 40,548 registered for the exam.

Q:   When is the GPAT result likely to be announced?

A:

NBEMS declared the GPAT result on July 8, 2024. The GPAT 2024 scorecard are also released on the official website of the exam. The exam was conducted on June 8, 2024.

Candidates have to log in to the GPAT 2024 website with their application number and date of birth and security pin and download the GPAT 2024 scorecard in PDF format.

 

Q:   How many institutes will be participating in GPAT 2024?

A:

NTA does not conduct the counselling for colleges accepting GPAT scores. However, considering GPAT to be a national-level pharmacy entrance exam, a total of 800 pharmaceutical participating institutes are expected to participate in GPAT 2024. GPAT counselling is conducted by individual institutes through their admission committee. Candidates need to check the admission criteria for admission to their preferred colleges individually. 

 

Q:   When will NBEMS release final GPAT answer key 2024?

A:

The GPAT final answer key was released along with the announcement of the GPAT result. It was released by the NBEMS authorities this year.  

The GPAT final answer key was available for download on the official website. The GPAT final answer key is used to check the recorded response sheet. 

The final answer key helps maintain transparency in the process of evaluation and also provides candidates a fair view of their ranks and scores obtained in the GPAT entrance exam.

 

What is Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test?

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) exam for admission to MPharma or equivalent courses. GPAT scores are accepted by 800 participating institutes and all the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) approved institutions and universities. Approximately 65,000 candidates take the entrance test every year.

The GPAT 2024 exam will be conducted in two shifts (morning and afternoon) at the designated test centers across India.  GPAT 2024 is a gateway to some of the top Pharmacy colleges in India.

Last year, as many as 68,439 candidates registered for the exam and out of the only 62,275 candidates appeared for the GPAT entrance exam. Out of them 31489 were male and 30786 female candidates. 

 

Q:   Who will announce the GPAT exam dates for 2024?

A:

The GPAT exam dates were announced by the exam conducting authority National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

GPAT 2024 exam will be conducted on June 8, 2024 as per the official notification. The morning shift of GPAT 2024 is generally conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and the forenoon shift will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GPAT 2024 result was declared by NBEMS in online mode at the official website. The GPAT 2024 result was issued in the form of a scorecard that can be downloaded in PDF format. Candidates have to visit the official website to check their scorecard for the national level exam by logging in via their mail ID and roll number.

How to check GPAT 2024 Result?

To check GPAT results, candidates should follow these steps on the official website:

  • Visit the official website of GPAT

  • Click on the 'GPAT 2024 Result' tab

  • Log in using their application number and password/ date of birth and enter the Security Pin

  • Press the 'Sign in' button and then on the 'View result' button

  • Download or save the online scorecard. The candidates are advised to take at least three to four copies printed for future use

GPAT 2024 Student Reaction

GPAT exam was conducted successfully. According to the students who appeared in the exam it was an Easy to Moderate level exam. No change in the exam pattern was reported. Q:   How to prepare for GPAT?

A:

Dear aspirant, GPAT 2024 Preparation can be started by going through the exam pattern and syllabus. GPAT Syllabus consists of a total of 19 subjects which are further divided into various sub topics. From all the subjects, Pharmacology carries the maximum weightage. Around 25% to 30% questions are framed from this section. To improve the performance for GPAT 2022, candidates can solve GPAT Sample Papers. For the preparation, candidates need to focus on the numerical problems as around 4 to 5 numerical questions are framed each year. Based on the higher secondary syllabus, some fundamental questions from the section of organic and physical Chemistry are asked in GPAT Exam. With the help of a good GPAT Preparation Strategy, candidates can excel in the exam. GPAT Preparation of Pharmacognosy: There are many theoretical sections in this subject. Candidates need to go through all the sections and note down all the important points. It is helpful for the last-minute revision. As per the analysis from the previous years question, most of the questions came from the section of Senna, Morphine, and Vinca. It is important to read all the basic concepts of the drugs in order to understand their features and effects. It is advised to focus on Pharmacognosy to get good marks in GPAT 2024. GPAT Preparation of Pharmacology As per the feedback by the student, this section is considered as easy and interesting. This section carries a good weightage in GPAT. Q:   What are the time slots for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test, GPAT Exam?

A:

Last year, the GPAT exam was conducted in two-time slots. In the previous year, the GPAT exam was conducted in the morning slot only from 9 AM to 12 PM. the afternoon/forenoon slot was held from  02:30 P.M. to 05:30 P.M at the physical test centres in computer-based format. National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will share the schedule for the GPAT exam day time slots through the official notification at the official website.

 

Q:   What is the marking scheme for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2024?

A:

As per the marking scheme of GPAT 2024 exam, each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and for every incorrect answer -1 mark will be deducted. The GPAT marking scheme clearly mentions that no mark will be deducted for unattempted questions.

 

GPAT Answer Key 2024

The GPAT final answer key will be released after the exam concludes. NBEMS generally releases the GPAT provisional answer key within 15 days after the exam concludes. Initially, the GPAT provisional answer keys will be released on the official NTA-GPAT portal. Candidates will have to log in using the application number and password or date of birth to download the answer key. GPAT answer key (previous year) carries all the answers to the questions asked in the examination. Candidates can calculate and estimate their scores by using the provisional answer key. Candidates will be provided with the facility to challenge the GPAT answer key by paying INR 200 per question within the stipulated time limit. After a few days, along with the GPAT result, the final GPAT answer key will be shared by exam conducting authority NBEMS.

Q:   What is the last date to raise objections against the GPAT answer key 2024?

A:

Candidates are allowed to lock-in their objections in online mode at the official website. The GPAT provisional answer key challange was started on June 15, 2024

The last date to raise objections is June 17, 2024. The objection-raising window was opened by NBE and no further objections or challenges will be entertained. Earlier the GPAT exam was conducted on June 8, 2024.

 

GPAT Cutoff - Previous Year

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will release the GPAT cutoff and merit list on the official website, natboard.edu.in. The GPAT merit list consists of a list of toppers. It contains details such as a candidate’s name, roll number, All India Rank (AIR), sectional scores, sectional percentile, overall percentile, and sectional percentiles.

The merit list will contain the All India Rank (AIR) of qualifiers. It is declared along with the result on the same day. The GPAT percentile determines how many candidates have scored below a particular candidate. The tentative GPAT 2024 cutoff is given in the table below:

GPAT 2024 Admit Card

GPAT admit card 2024 was released by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), at the official NBEMS-GPAT website. The GPAT hall ticket was available for download after the applicant signs in to their GPAT application portal using the login details issued at the time of the registration process. It is important to take a clear printout of the downloaded GPAT admit card because a hard copy of the same is mandatory for verification purposes at the GPAT 2024 exam centre. Candidates not carrying a hard copy of their admit card were barred or restricted from appearing in the examination.

GPAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Q:   I am 32 years in age. Can I apply for GPAT exam?

A:

Yes, there is no age restriction, therefore, you can apply for the GPAT 2024 exam. Candidates who wish to pursue MPharma and are Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the exam. As age is no bar so a candidate of any age is eligible to apply for the exam. However, the admission criteria may vary for each institute offering MPharma course. Therefore, candidates need to check the admission criteria of the preffered institute before seeking admission. 

 

GPAT application form 2024

The exam conducting body released the GPAT registration in online mode on April 19, 2024. The GPAT registration window was open 20 days after the application process started. The last date to fill the GPAT online form was May 8, 2024

The GPAT registration fees in 2024 increased from previous year for Gen/OBC/EWS candidates who needed to pay INR 3500 while the remaining had to pay INR 2,500.  

The GPAT application forms were available on the NBEMS. Every year, all AICTE-approved Institutions, University Departments, Constituent Colleges, and Affiliated Colleges will shortlist qualified students for admission into MPharma.

GPAT Admission Process

The admission process started with the registration process for the examination. Aspirants of the PG entrance test were required to register themselves on the official website. After completion of the registration process, candidates could proceed to fill out the application form.

The applications undergo scrutiny after successful submission. The applicants whose applications are accepted by the NBE issue the admit card. Candidates then need to appear for an online test.

The results will be declared for the candidates who write the examination, following which the candidates who qualify for the examination participate in the counselling rounds.

To participate in the counselling, candidates will have to apply separately to the desired institute/college. The participating institute basis the applications received released the cut-off scores. Candidates who fall inside the cutoff range get admission to that institute.

Q:   I appeared for the GPAT exam last year. Can I again apply this year as well?

A:

Yes, there is no restrictions on the number of attempts that a candidate can give to appear for the GPAT entrance exam. However, there is a lower age limit to appear for the exam. Candidates not less than 17 years of age can only apply for the GPAT exam. The GPAT 2024 application process is generally conducted for a period of 30 days. The GPAT 2024 registration process will be organised online at the official NTA-GPAT admission portal. It is mandatory to register for the exam in order to apply for the MPharma course.

 

GPAT Exam Centres 2024

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) released the list of locations of the GPAT exam centres, along with other critical exam information. This, NBE designated 113 cities around the country as locations for its test centres. Below is the tentative list of centres. Candidates will have to enter four cities of their choice in preferential order. The final GPAT 2024 exam centre was notified on the admit card.

The number of registered candidates in the previous year (2023) was 68,439 and the actual number of appearing candidates was 62,275. What to avoid on the GPAT exam day?

Q:   What was last year's GPAT cutoff?

A:
Last year, GPAT cutoff was in a range of 148 for General category candidates, 120 for the OBC category, 94 for SC, 75 for ST, and 122 for EWS category candidates. However, this year's GPAT cutoff will depend on several factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, and the total number of candidates who appear and pass in the entrance exam and the seat availability with the institute. Candidates will be able to secure admission on first come first serve basis. If the number of GPAT applicants increases, competition would also get tougher, and the cutoff will soar higher.
 

Q:   Can I leave the examination hall if I complete GPAT exam before time?

A:
No, even if you finish the GPAT entrance exam before time, you will not be allowed to leave the examination hall. Candidates will be allowed to leave the examination centre after completion of the designated 3 hours only.

For post graduation M.Pharma, the candidate must attempt the GPAT-Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test and qualify it. For admission to the B.Pharma program at DPSRU, a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in the Higher Secondary/Intermediate examination with English as one of the compulsory subjects is required. Apart from English, a combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and/or Biology (PCM/PCMB) is compulsory.

Yes, BITS Pilani accepts GPAT scores for admission to MPharm course. Apart from the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), BITS Pilani also accepts BITS HD entrance test scores for MPharm admission.
