Whether you have taken admission via lateral mode or after 12th, it matters less during placement season. What matters is your academic record/performance, how you conduct yourself during the interview, etc. This institute has a reasonably good record of placing students. However, it all depends on the condition of India's economy when you pass out. Chances are that Indian industry would be booming by then. So, have no worries.
