While Harvard University is a part of Ivy League, it does not rank number 1 in the whole world. As per QS, THE and the US World, MIT and Oxford generally hold the top spots in major rankings

Although Harvard consistently ranks among the top 5 universities in the world. As per QS, the Business and Management courses offered at Harvard are ranked #1 in the world.

If you are an Indian student and wondering if Harvard is easier to get into than Princeton University, then please note that both of them are out of the hardest to get into. Also, both are part of the prestigious Ivy League.

Look at the pointers given below -

  • While both of them are hard to get into, Harvard University is slightly harder to get into, with acceptance rates going as low as 3.63%
  • And the Princeton University acceptance rate stays at around 4.4% only.  You have to be exceptional to get into either of them.

No, Trinity College Dublin is not really better than Harvard as Harvard's ranking is generally better than TCD.

Actually, Trinity is known as the Harvard of Ireland which means that this is also a great institution for higher learning.

Yes, this can be considered really cool for Harvard University, as it covers the full tuition cost, housing, meals and other expenses if they can get in.

Harvard is known to provide the 100% of demonstrated financial need for all Indian students.

Yes, it is important for Indian students to submit the CSS profile, supporting financial documentation and tax returns like the bank statements or income certificates.

The CSS is the main application which can be filed via the college board and it also allows applicants to report income, expenses and assets.

No, Indian students would not necessarily be considered automatically for scholarships here. While there is no scholarship application form, the students should still submit a financial aid application.

For the students admitted,   Harvard University meets 100% of their demonstrated need scholarships

As a full-time student at MIT, students can cross-register for classes at Harvard University – Faculty of Arts and Sciences and one of the professional schools (some exceptions applicable). First-year UG student is not eligible for this. There is no additional fees to cross-register. Fees may apply for Harvard, for labs, studios or materials.

As an Indian student planning to go for the Fall semester, you should try and request the I-20 form by March to early April to allow the F-1 visa processing

The visa appointment wait times are longer in India, so it may take 2 to 4 months to get an appointment for the visa interview.

Aiming to book the appointment by April or May keeps the student application on track.

No, Harvard does not prefer students applying in the Restrictive Early round rather than the later rounds. The Harvard acceptance rate may seem higher for REA, but it is merely the result of a smaller pool of highly qualified applicants

So, the timings have no real effect in admissions at Harvard. The official wesbsite says that the students applying in Regular Decision have more time to edit and proofread the applications.
