The Puritan Clergyman, John Harvard founded Harvard in 1636. Then, in 1642, first Harvard commencement took place with nine graduates. In 1783, Harvard Medical School was founded. In 1900, Harvard Uni becamse the founding member of the Association of American Universities. In 2011, Harvard celebrated its 375th anniversary.
