In 1987, DCRUST was founded as the Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, Murthal. Later, in 2006, it was elevated to the status of university and given the new name Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology. It is a state university that is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and connected to the Haryana State Government. Candidates can check out the GJUST BTech allotment list online on its official website. The seat allotment process is carried out through HSTES counselling. The candidates get a seat based on merit/JEE score. After filling out the admission form, aspirants should wait for the cutoff list and then take part in the counselling, if they meet the cutoff marks.

The counselling rounds depends upon the number of applicants, seat availability, and more. GJUST conducts counselling rounds for BPharm until all the seats are filled. In the past, four rounds of counselling was conducted followed by two physical spot counselling for admission to the UG programmes. In 2023, GJUST BPharm cutoff was 93 for the General-All India category.
