B.E. / B.TechMandatory subjects in 12th - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Lateral Entry Eligibility Candidate must have completed Diploma of 3 years in IT or CSE (after 10+2 or matriculation) preferably from Himachal Pradesh State Board of Technical Education or B.Sc. degree with Mathematics and Physics with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate from recognised University. For sponsored category candidate must have 3 years of experience of working in Government sector /Public Sector Units /Industry related to Information Technology/ Computer Science Engineering.
For Lateral Entry

There are no other branch, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) is located in Shimla district Ghandal and was established in the year 2016, by the Himachal Pradesh Act of 2016. The university has now become a part of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) consortium. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and ranked 5 among NLU’s by CLAT Cutoff list. Admissions shall be made strictly on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test provided he / she obtains at least 50% marks in the Entrance Test (45% marks for SC/ST candidates). This is a two year programme of regular study.

The cutoff for Himachal Pradesh National Law University Shimla in 2023 will be determined by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) during the CLAT counseling process. Candidates who have appeared in CLAT 2023 exam and meet the HPNLU 2023 Shimla cut-off scores will be considered for admission. 

The last round cutoff for the different years was as follows:

2021: 829

2022: 1492

2023: 2362

Both Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) and Nalsar University of Law are good colleges for B.A. LL.B., and the choice between them depends on individual preferences. HPNLU is a relatively new university established in 2016, offering BA LLB, BBA LLB, LLM, and PhD courses. The number of seats available for the B.A. LL.B. program at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) is 60, out of which 25 percent of the seats are reserved for Himachal Pradesh Domicile Candidates. However, the university is relatively new, having been established in 2016. As of 2023, Himachal Pradesh National Law University accepts Common Law Admission Test scores for admission to its undergraduate courses, including BA LLB.

No, HPU does not releases the HPU MAT answer key. Soon after the HPU MAT 2026 exam is conducted, authorities will release HPU MAT 2026 result. Only candidates who will appear for the exam will be able to check their scorecards online. HPU MAT result is released in the form of merit list. Candidates will be able to check their name and roll number if shortlisted. 

Such students will have to appear for the HPU MAT counselling process as per the scheudule. HPU releases the HPU MAT counselling schedule for both subsidized and non-subsidized seats.
