Yes, you can pursue an M.A. In history with a B.A. In literature. Most of the colleges require you to have a Bachelor's degree to apply for an M.A. In history. A B.A. In history is not necessary for an M.A. Direct admission is available for M.A. Courses at universities like Amity University. To apply for admission to prestigious central universities like BHU, you can also sit for the CUET-PG exam. IGNOU has B.A. in ancient history with reasonable fees of 9k for whole course duration of 3 year with including books which will deliver to your doorstep, so you have a choice to enroll in IGNOU
Fresh Admission for PG and UG Programme, both for Online and ODL mode (except Certificate and semester-based Programme) has been extended till 7th November 2022new for June session you have 4 days left to enroll if you want to take admission you can go IGNOU website
examination centre is available in all over India

If you want regular college then every college have their good and bad side you have to judge according to your need just focus on faculty infrastructure environment library and the most important thing to make college good is you, yes you have to focus on your goal which make college valuable and precious
otherwise open university also offer B.A. Honors in political Science and history in reasonable fees like IGNOU 9000 rs fess with including books for full duration course of three year. The one thing that make open university precious is student have to do selfstudy and focus on goal

The fee structure of arts for private colleges ranges from INR 4 Lacs per annum to INR 5 Lacs Per Annum for the entire course duration, whereas for government colleges, it goes around from INR 14000 to INR 45,000 per year.
