Colleges that offer "free admission" to a Diploma in Hotel Management after 10 th are extremely scarce. Nevertheless, the Government Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) which are directed in the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) provide Diploma courses that have much lesser fees than that of a private institution. The Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering (AIHMCT), Bangalore, admission is mainly made of children of the Army officers. In the case of BHM program, one should have at least 50 percent in 10+2 with English. The process of selection has changed and instead of an entrance exam, the process will comprise of a merit list derived through 40 percent of the 10th grade marks and 60 percent of 12th grade marks and then the online interview. Applicants are usually accepted around the month of November.
