To get admission into one of the colleges for hotel management, you need to take entrance tests like JEE NCHMCT-Joint Entrance Examination by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, CET (GGSIPU) BHMCT-Common Entrance Test by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, etc.
Questions would cover topics varying English language, aptitude for service sector, numerical ability and scientific aptitude, reasoning and logical deduction, data interpretation, general knowledge, current affairs, etc. The level of questions would not seem very difficult if you prepare in advance. The paper is usually 3 hours long. Prepare for the English section well as the weightage for this section is more usually. Get couple of good books to prepare from. There are many books available, which focus solely on questions covered in the entrance exams for Hotel Management courses.
