Scores obtained by candidates in IBPS RRB exam are calculated based on the marking scheme. The marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority. IBPS RRB marking scheme is given below:
- Each correct answer typically carries 1 mark
- For every incorrect answer, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks (1/4th of the mark assigned to that question)
- Unanswered questions do not attract any penalty

IBPS RRB Clerk exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims and Mains exams. IBPS RRB PO exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims exam, Mains exam and interview. IBPS RRB SO exam pattern comprises single online exam and interview. The exam pattern is explained below:

IBPS RRB exam day guidelines related to COVID-19 are given below:
- Candidates are required to report at the exam centre as per the time slot mentioned on the admit card
- Candidates are required to report atleast 15 minutes before the reporting time
- Mapping of ‘Candidate Roll Number and ‘Lab Number’ will not be displayed outside the exam venue
- Candidates need to wear masks while appearing for the exam
- They are allowed to carry a personal transparent water bottle
