IBPS RRB Clerk exam pattern is divided into prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam carries 80 marks. The Mains exam carries 200 marks. There are negative markings in both prelims and Mains exams. For the wrong answer, 1/4 of the marks assigned to that question are deducted as penalty. The structure of IBPS RRB Clerk exam pattern is given below.

Prior to submission of the online application, candidates are advised to use the 'save and next' facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. In the event where RRBs have announced further vacancies, provisional allotment is carried out from the reserve list. Wherein two or more candidates secure the same score, the merit order is decided as per the date of birth. This means candidates senior in age are placed above the one junior in age.

The provisional allotment is done in the following manner:

  • Once the interview/mains examination is completed, depending on the number of IBPS RRB vacancies, shortlisted candidates are provisionally allotted to one of the RRBs
  • The provisional allotment of candidates in IBPS RRB exam is done based on merit-cum-preference
  • For Officers Scale I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose), the provisional allotment is done within the RRBs of the state opted by the candidates
