Each day has its own set of challenges and twists. Things are so unpredictable here that you can't even plan your evenings in advance, as you would never know which professor would shower upon you, long assignments with Short deadlines. But then you also have days when you get pleasant surprises. Sometimes you enter a class and see an industry expert standing near the podium getting ready to teach a certain course topic or sometimes there are some exciting activities planned for us by the professor which is fun. And when such classes get over, you can realize how much we got to learn without even realizing.
You have some time for your breakfast or else you will have to rush to the bus with a slice of bread in your hand.
The lectures are mostly interesting and if you have done a prior reading of the topic, you will be so engrossed in the discussion that you won't know where the time flew.
This is the time when literally everyone is rushing towards the mess. The food is so good that you would never want to be among the last ones.
Finally, you are at some ease as you have finished your lectures. So, students take some time out and enjoy their tea and pakoras while discussing their first half of the day.
Life is really good here.

IIMs offer MBA program which involves a lot of peer to peer learning and it prepares students to enter into the corporate or business world. Diversity is considered important today in corporates as well feeding into the diversity agenda of IIMs apart from their own objective of having diverse students to foster a good learning environment. IIMs do consider academic diversity as a factor for shortlisting and further selection. This is considering that the CAT score and past academic score in class 10th, 12th and graduation are comparable to other candidates who have a background in engineering which is the most prevalent graduate degree in India. Thus, considering all these criteria, it's important to choose a graduation degree that you are interested in, otherwise, you won't be able to perform well. The selection process also looks at your motivation to choose a graduation programme and your grasp of concepts learned. Also, if you are planning to gain some work experience before MBA, it's important to choose something that interests you rather than getting into IIM as a criteria for your decision. This is just a small factor as reflected by the high proportion of engineers in IIMs. Think well and choose wisely.

Reservation has widely been a debated issue in our country since a long time. A person should not focus on reservations, instead you should focus on your preparation strategy of CAT. Anyone who prepares well enough has the potential to crack the Exam.
It's not our call to decide on deserving or non-deserving candidates, it all depends upon the interview panel which takes the final interview.
Coming onto why bars are reduced for reserved category for IIMs because it's said by the constitution of our country to provide reservations to backward sections of the society who could not avail same opportunities which a general person can avail in his life time for himself as well as his/her children. Thus to uplift that section of society and bring them, at par with the society is the purpose of reservation.

PGP-Post Graduate Program
PGDM-Post Graduate Diploma in Management
FPM-Fellow Program in management
ABM-AgriBusiness Management
Most of the things are clear by the full forms itself.
PGP is a two-year postgraduate program offered by most of the colleges.
PGDM or Post Graduate Diploma in Management is offered by autonomous institutions as they cannot offer MBA.
FPM is a Ph.D/fellowship in management. Generally, people interested in research in management related fields do this course.
ABM is agri-business management which you will learn mostly about agribusiness. The course will be same in the first year as PGP and in the second year, you will learn more courses focused on ABM.
What course to take totally depends on your requirements in the future. So make a well-informed decision.

Rashmi Bansal is an Indian non-fiction writer, entrepreneur and a youth expert. As of 2016, she is the author of seven books on entrepreneurship. Her first book, Stay Hungry Stay Foolish, traced the progress of 25 MBA entrepreneurs and sold over 500,000 copies, a record for books published in India.
On graduating from IIM, she first worked as a brand manager for the Times of India. After developing a youth page for The Independent, she went on to found JAM (Just Another Magazine), a youth magazine in collaboration with her husband Yatin Bansal.
She was inspired to write Stay Hungry Stay Foolish (2008) by Rakesh Basant, a professor at IIM Ahmedabad who suggested she should cover the experiences of 25 entrepreneurs from the school. It turned out to be so successful that 100,000 copies were sold in the first 10 months, eventually recording sales of over 350,000. Her next book, Connect the Dots (2010), traced the progress of entrepreneurs without the MBA qualification. It also proved to be a best seller. Her I Have a Dream (2011) focused on social entrepreneurs, introducing an interesting mix of English and Hindi, popularly known as Hinglish, in an attempt to add a more realistic account of her personalities.
In an interview with Heather Timmons of the New York Times, Bansal explained she decided to use Hinglish as it provides a more direct representation of people's voices and makes them more real. More recently, Bansal has written another four best-sellers on entrepreneurs: Poor Little Rich Slum, Follow Every Rainbow, Take Me Home and Arise Awake. All are concerned with entrepreneurship with advice on how to succeed. She frequently illustrates her ideas with accounts of those who have risen to unexpected heights.
