What is your score in CAT? The good score is percentile of 99 and above for any of the old IIMs and above 95 in the newer IIMs. IIMs have 70% weightage for your CAT percentile and 30 percent for your academia and other aspects. If you don't get IIMs opt for any institute up to 50 ranks in India.

Hello Nikhil,
I am really thrilled to know your dreams. It's good. However, you will have to go through the grind. Meaning, obtain a degree and then prepare for and clear entrance exam for admission to IIMs. If you start now, success will be yours.

IIM considers 10th, 12th and graduation marks for shortlisting candidates for GDPI round in addition to CAT score. Therefore, if your marks are poor because of history of arrears, it will impact your chances for getting a call. Also, it will create a bad impression in PI round with interviewing board and reduce your chances of selection.

Your 10th marks would serve as the major hindrance for your admission to major IIM's. Having said that new baby IIM's have somewhat lenient criteria which might help you in case you manage very good percentile. All the best!

If you plan to work and settle in UAE, then it is advisable to do your higher studies MIM from UAE, this will help in getting jobs easily.
But if incase, you are planning to come back to India and work here - then you should do your MBA from top Indian B-school. It will have a much higher scope in India.
So, think about your choices and wisely decide.

Branch and type of engineering degree does not impact your probability of getting into MBA at IIMs or any other B-School. You may pursue engineering in any branch of your choice.
