NIRF ranked IIT Guwahati 7 under the “Engineering” category in 2023. According to media reports, a total of 712 students were placed till Dec 6 during IIT Guwahati placements 2024. Further, the highest international and domestic package offered during IIT Guwahati placements 2024 stood at INR 2.05 Crore per annum and INR 1.20 Crore per annum, respectively.

To apply for admission to the BTech course at IIT Guwahati, candidates must visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and fill out the application form in online mode for JEE Main. For other courses such as MSc, MTech, BS-MS (Dual Degree) etc., candidates must visit the official website of respective national-level entrance exam conducting bodies and fill out the application form in online mode. The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 7859. In 2023, it increased to 8453. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 3065 to 3376 for OBC, 1640 to 1842 for SC, 619 to 585 for ST, 1362 to 1329 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

IIT Guwahati will release 6 rounds of JEE Advanced cutoffs for admission to B.Tech. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors: The JEE Advanced score of the candidate The category of the candidate The number of seats available in the course Candidates must visit the official website of entrance exam to read clear instructions on how to proceed with the counselling process, once the round is released.

The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering is 5959 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology.

The year 2023 cutoff ranks for B.Tech. in Biosciences and Bioengineering at IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology other than General category are - 4240 for OBC, 2559 for SC, 1232 for ST, 1763 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Advanced, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

JEE Advanced opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 9185 and closing rank was 10,455. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 3,253 and 16,077. Admission to B.Tech. in Biosciences and Bioengineering in IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

IIT JAM Round 4 admission list was released on July 7. As per the Round 4 cutoff list, IIT JAM closing ranks ranges between 53 and 324, for the General category students. So, considering the IIT JAM cutoff 2023, candidates securing a rank between 6 and 324 are eligible to get IIT Guwahati for MSc coruses.
